Before the release of Median XL 2012, many players lobbied for a "harder Median". So that was exactly what it is. Unfortunately, many players disliked the difficulty and reverted back to Omega.
Median XL 2012 v003 is currently in development. It will smoothen out the difficulty spikes, make Destruction difficulty somewhat easier and turn drop rates back up. I'm not one to judge, but I am a free market whore and will do what the community asks...
